I had the opportunity to produce the #TheDecision short film on 4-Star OT, Rasheed Walker. He’s narrowed down his final decisions to Ohio State, Virginia Tech, and Penn State.

On a personal note, Rasheed is probably the most humble athlete I’ve been around. Watching him develop as a student-athelte, and a man, from the beginning of his high school career has been an incredible story. Going from no playing time early on, to being the captain on an incredibly successful team his sophomore/junior/senior year is solely a testament to his dedication to the craft, and love for the game.

Here’s some buzz around the recruiting world that this video has caused:

Walker released a preview video of his pending college decision Friday afternoon. Walker received in-home visits this week from the coaches of his three finalists: Justin Fuente and members of the Virginia Tech staff went in-home on Tuesday; Urban Meyer and his assistants followed on Wednesday; and James Franklin and Penn State coaches rounded out the group on Thursday evening.

Walker has taken all of his planned official visits and will use this final weekend to sit down with family and those close to him before announcing his decision on National Signing Day, Feb. 7.

Walker’s recruitment is expected to come down to a choice between Penn State and Ohio State. It’s a neck-and-neck battle between the divisional rivals and Big Ten powerhouses, although Penn State seems to have the advantage after leading for Walker for most of his recruitment.

As for another offensive tackle target, he dropped a sneak preview into his thought process.

Walker posted a video on YouTube where he explained his finalists, including Ohio State, Penn State and Virginia Tech.

He even offered a slight tease at the end when he says, “I’m about to go to…” And then the video cuts out.

So it could have easily been a commitment video. But everyone will just have to wait until Wednesday for Walker to announce his decision.

Walker is one of Ohio State’s biggest targets remaining. A signing from Walker, the No. 65 player in the country according to 247Sports.com’s composite rankings, would give the Buckeyes 20 four-star prospects.

In the video, Walker shared a story about the first time he met Urban Meyer during a camp and how nervous he was.

In a specially produced video, Maryland offensive tackle prospect Rasheed Walker shares his thoughts on his three final school choices.

Walker, who preps at Waldorf (Md.) North Point High School, goes in-depth on what he likes about Virginia Tech, Penn State and Ohio State. At the end of the video, Walker toys with viewers and teases making his college choice. A graphic then shows he will announce on national signing day, Wed., Feb. 7.

The 6-6, 300-pound Walker is rated as the nation’s No. 65 prospect overall, No. 6 offensive tackle and No. 4 prospect in Maryland for 2018, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Ohio State made an in-home visit with Walker this past week with head coach Urban Meyer, offensive line coach Greg Studrawa and area recruiter Larry Johnson all visiting. Penn State coach James Franklin also made an in-home visit with Walker this past week.

Virginia Tech Among Finalists for Four-Sart OT Rasheed Walker | Techlunchpail.com

Rasheed Walker named Virginia Tech, Penn State, and Ohio State his finalists; and will announce his decision on Wednesday (National Signing Day). Walker is one of the top unsigned offensive linemen in the country and has been a top target for the Buckeyes, Nittany Lions, and Hokies for much of the cycle.

Walker made an official visit to Blacksburg in December while Justin Fuente made an in-home visit this past week according to 247 Sports. The four-star OT has also taken official visits to his other two finalists, Penn State and Ohio State.

Right now, Penn State feels like the favorites in Walker’s recruitment while Ohio State and VT both have a reasonable chance as well. The Hokies have put in a lot of work to make themselves contenders for Walker, but the Hokies are considered to be the underdogs among these three schools at this point.

Virginia Tech has made the final cut for one of the top offensive tackles in the country. While the Hokies may not be the favorites for Walker, they definitely have given themselves a shot at one of the top recruits from Maryland.

Rasheed Walker breaks down Ohio State visit, and more | Pennlive.com

Penn State signee Ricky Slade Jr., a five-star running back from Virginia, told Land of 10’s Tyler Donohue he intends to make a push for North Point (Md.) offensive tackle Rasheed Walker. He said he and his fellow 2018 commits and signees continue to talk and text with Walker, but he might take the recruiting push to the next level with a trip to see him.

“With him being so close to me, I can just go up there and chill with him,” Slade told Donohue. “He’s only like an hour away from me, so I think I’m going to make the trip. I’m definitely already in his phone, though.”

Walker gave a thorough recap of his recent visit to Ohio State in an interview with Rivals analyst Adam Friedman. He said much of the focus on the trip was on academics and life after football. The Buckeyes have emerged as a serious contender for the 6-6, 300-pounder in the final weeks before National Signing Day. Walker plans to announce his college decision Feb. 7.
